The ParOS controller is the outcome of over 15 man-years of leading edge research at the Queen's Award Centre for Process Systems Engineering under the leadership of Professor Stratos Pistikopoulos, who is the Director of the Centre and a Professor in the Chemical Engineering department at Imperial College.

The ParOS technology is unique in its field - international patents have been applied for (WO02/097540), in Europe, Japan and the USA. The European Patent Office advised in March 2007 that it intends to grant the European patent.

In addition, ParOS has in place a pipeline agreement with Imperial College to commercialise relevant technology from Professor Stratos Pistikopoulos's research group, thus enabling ParOS to maintain its leading technology edge in the field.
